School Overview

The School of Energy and Mining Engineering was formerly Resources Development Engineering Department, which was founded from Geological Committee, Mining Laboratory, Measurement Laboratory, Mine Construction Laboratory, Geotechnical Institute and High Water Institute in April 1998. The Resources Development Engineering Department was officially renamed the School of Resources and Safety Engineering in June 2002.In December 2018 "School of Resources and Safety Engineering" was renamed "School of Energy and Mining Engineering ". Among them, the subject of safety is established independently. The School consists of Mining Engineering Department, Resources Engineering Department, Top-coal Caving Technology Center and Safety Testing Center, Engineering Research Center of Roadway Support and Disaster Prevention Coal Industry, etc. The School recruits undergraduates majoring in mining engineering and industrial engineering.Mining engineering discipline is the key construction discipline of "211 Project", "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" and "World First-class Discipline Construction". It has ranked first in the national discipline evaluation for four consecutive times. The School hasoneprogram for Distinguished Professors under the Cheung Kong Scholars Program for mining engineering, and a post-doctoral research station for mining engineering. There are three doctoral programs in mining engineering, resource development and planning, and engineering management. The School also provides three master's programs of mining engineering, resource development and planning, and engineering management, and master's degree programs of mining engineering.

The School has established 1 state-level Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, 1 Practical Engineering Education Center, 1 off-campus talent training base of Beijingand1 key laboratory of co-associated energy precise mining in Beijing. Its mining engineering bachelor program passed accredition of the Ministry of Educationof China.

The School has obvious discipline advantages and fruitful teaching and research achievements.In recent five years, the teachers and staffs in the School published more than 30 monographs, 800 research papers, more than 200 SCI papers, EI collected more than 200 papers, more than 80 national invention patents School teachers ,110 patents were achieved,including national science and technology progress prize 2 item 1 first prize, second prize, second prize of national natural science one provincial science and technology progress prize two eight award more than 40 second prize, third prize more than 20 subjects in the research of scientific research.At present, 100 research projects, including much starker choices-and graver consequences-in national key research project topics More than 30 national programs such as the national natural science foundation of China have won one second prize of national teaching achievement, two excellent courses of Beijing and one excellent teaching material for Schools and universities in Beijing

The School of Energy and Mining Engineering currently has 1,018 students, including 467 undergraduates, 454 master's degree students and 97 doctoral students.,2 people have a master's degree in engineering with outstanding contribution winner honor. The School youth league committee was awarded the National coal industry "may fourth red flag youth league committee" title, the Beijing communist youth league "standard and excellence","red flag youth league committee" title and the excellent organization prize in Beijing "qualified for excellence"competition.
